Would like to here some opinions on this. I’m getting ready to upgrade and can’t decode between the alpha and the 430.

Alpha... has the shock collar built in. I've had mine 4 1/2 years now and love it.

Ive used both, and Alpha is the superior system.
I have had friends who have bought 320's and 430's saying oh I don't need the shock collar but both have since admitted they messed up and wish they had just went with the alpha.
Both systems are good though.

I do not have an Alpha but would prefer it for just hunting, but I use the shock collars on the cow dogs and for bark collars around home where I would not want my tracking collars on the dogs all the time and dang pups would be chewing on the antennas etc so I use DC 50's and shock collars. Just fit my need better.

The Alpha is hard to beat...I used to turn my dogs out at 7 am and sometimes it would be 5 or 6 pm before rounding up all my dogs...I can go home when I want most the time and keeping track of my dogs is fairly easy with the Alpha...I still run my quick track as back up but haven’t had to use it in a long while...

Training dogs is not about quantity, it's more about timing, the right situations, and proper guidance...After that it's up to the dog... A hunting dog is born not made...
