It seems like deer season gets longer every year. My nephew Dillian and I made a round this morning. Turned 2 grown dogs and a pup about a year old out. It was the pups first hunt. I couldn't have been happier with them. They hustled and worked hard. We caught 6 in pretty quick order. They weren't monsters, about 180-200#, but great hogs for soft dogs and a pup. As soon as we would get our hands on the hog the 2 older dogs were gone again. By the third hog, my pup was getting the idea about there being more than one hog out there and was trying to leave too. Sure was fun.

Training dogs is not about quantity, it's more about timing, the right situations, and proper guidance...After that it's up to the dog... A hunting dog is born not made...

Reuben they are full blood soup hounds, lol. Depending on what cross they are out of, they are 1/8 -3/8 walker and the rest cat. Color is the only real difference in them. Most of mine are black/tans, black/brindles, or walker colored. The original old dog was half and half. Walker patterned but instead of a black saddle he had a blue merle saddle and a red merle head. He had super track speed, tons of drive and bottom, a great nose

He had brains to spare also. I loved him like a son, lol. I see a lot of him in these dogs, especially the pup I hunted today.
Joel, I was hoping that you catch the fever once you read that it's game on down here. We're waiting on you, not really, but come on.
