I'm sure several of y'all have seen it on the news, but the West community lost a young man in a wreck Thursday. He was a Senior in high school and a stud on the football field. He was a starter both hways, running back and linebacker. His name was Jacob Bates #13. I didn't know him personally but we played West twice this year, first game of the season and again in the playoffs. Everything I read about him when scouting suggested that he was the back bone of a good football team. He was my kind of ball player. A big physical young man that showed no signs of quit. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and community.
