Hit one of my gyps with a ECP injection a couple weeks ago to abort a possible accidental breeding. Since then she has gone a long ways down hill in respects to her hunting. So much I’m really debating on culling her. She was a stay busy want to please kinda dog. She has been little less than worthless these past 5 or so hunts. Anybody had any experience with this?

Hormone issues can flat mess up a bitch, you can do what you want but I would give her some slack.

It will be a solid cycle most of the tim and might last for 4 weeks it’s not very healthy for them at all would have been better to let her have the pups and give away or cull them

Like judge said I was always told its better to just let them whelp and then handle.

Since you are shooting synthetic estrogen into a bitch I bet it would be common for this to screw up a bitch quite a bit. If you liked her before I would give her a couple of months to work all of those hormones out of her system and get balanced again.

Like what’s already been said, her hormones are out of wack, I’ve used this shot several times and seen a drastic difference in the females afterwards two in particular had bad reactions, I’ll never use it again, sometimes it’s best to just let Mother Nature sort things out and deal with the pups how you see fit once their born...

Few yrs back old time Gary had a bitch get bred by a stray dog that showed up she had the pups and he was going to cull the whole batch but he ended up letting them go well them things where ugly to no end. I guess 8 months went by and there was two left hanging around he never took care of them they just hung by the barn and he would put some feed out well one got ran over and I named the lone bitch cur mutt. She was 35 lbs of pure ugliness. I took her hunting one day and by the 5th time I took her I figured she was as natural as they come she was at every bay never once had a collar on her no telling what she was doing but she would be pulling fur when you got to the bay. Well fast forward a bit and the next time I went over I didn’t see her I asked where she was and he said well I shot her cuz she was knocked up lol

The bitch looks bred to me. She ain’t bagging up but she is rolly Polly fat. Not a person out there that’s ever seen a half assed decent dog that would want to own her right now as far as I’m concerned. Might have ruined me a decent dog. Live and learn I reckon
