Been steady at it tryin to get these young dogs goin.It always seems like summer time we catch a lot of smaller hogs one reason I guess is we have to constantly cut off dogs and pull them out of races before they swim the Gators are thick and feeding heavy just part of it though. My Holly pups are coming on strong at a yr and it's been really cool watching these pups do what comes naturally.

10-4 Back home, I used to run a 300 upstack 540 on an old school 13 ft Taylor (grass hull) 3/4 deck. Grew up hunting the Glades on up to the north end of the Lake. Mostly reel skinny water and "dry" Grin Started hunting with some boys on the Kissimmee later on. They all had deep hull boats. Running that deep river in a Taylor(grass) hull would make your a## pucker Grin I would run the hell out of that marsh though. Flooded pasture, myrtles, willows, as well as "crushing" palmettos Wink Caught a lot of hogs out of that marsh. Never ran the St Johns.

when your dogs are bayed in water where gators are, and you send in your cd to seal the deal/catch hog, what do you do before jumping in to gator infested water to stab or tie a pig in water or on the edge of a bank with dogs and a pig or pig blood in the water/bank to protect yourself from gators?
