Me my uncle and Colby decided to make a round this morning. We’re just aiming to let my uncles old junior dog burn off some steam and go kill this sow we had pictures of at the ranch. We sure got more than we bargained for. Turned out off feeder and junior struck a hog. Ran about 100 yards to the yegua and bayed. Junior don’t just bay any little ole hog. Got in there and he had a big ole shank daddy. Kill him and he rolls over and gets another hog fired up. 2.5 hour race later I’m standing over  junior baying the biggest hog I’ve ever seen in the wild in my life. Kill a Big ole Barr hog.
The boar hog
Barr hog in the middle of some down right nasty landlocked country down in a drainage slough. Not a chance in hell besides dozing the 150 yards in to him of getting him out. We really considered it but we figured we had the memory and we all knew just how big he was. We all agreed he had to have had close to 100lbs on the boar hog we killed(prior to ever weighing him) boar went 283 so we were comfortable saying the Barr was 350+. Ole Super Junior single handedly put me on the 2 biggest hogs I’ve ever killed in my life in the same morning, that ole dog and the line my uncle has had for years is something else.

Good job, Slim. The only thing better than catching one big one is catching two. Is ol Junior the dog you bred your gyp to?

Yessir I can agree with that. Boar was my biggest boar to date by what up being about 45 lbs. then we killed my first Barr and he was by far bigger lol. I was in awe... and no sir, I bred my gyp to juniors daddy’s full brother I believe, this line has been bred back and forth so much I’ve been told a million times and won’t ever remember for sure, called Levi. Levi is a big brindle dog, junior is a yella dog. Ultrasound early this week showed the breeding took so we’re real excited

Thanks again everybody. Junior is healing up as well as we could ask. Took one pretty good cut in the chest, vetericyn and him being able to reach it is doing him plenty of favors. Sketch is due about Halloween by the calendar, so we shall see

Nice hogs, should've at least snatched the back strap out of the bar hog.

I sure wish we would have thought about it. All we were focused on was catching junior and getting the heck out of that thicket
