What’s people’s experience with dogs that have lost an eye from a pig, I’m in Australia an run finder holders but have a dog about 2 year old that was hunting good moving his way up the ranks an got busted up on a pig an lost his eye, it’s healed up an I’ve just started hunting him again. Hes only been on 3 hunts an hasn’t lost any confidence in holding just not hunting out as far as he was before it happened, hopefully he’s just getting use to it? Time will tell I guess

I've had two Plotts over the years. One lost a eye to a hog and this female that I am running now got a stick or something in her eye while running and blinded her. It did not affect either one of them. I am surprised that it dosent happen more often as thick as the brush is that these dogs run in.

I've seen this twice also. One bay dog and one catch dog. Both did fine one eyed.
