Made a round this morning in some country where they like to run. I met Colby and a buddy of his and we went down towards the bottom land and casted them in. I sent two old dogs and 2 6 month pups . They never checked up and it wasn’t long and they all were opening. A half mile race to the north and they bayed solid. Took us about 30 min to get them. The two 6 month old pups were still there booger barking. I finally talked the cur dogs into catching the 150# salty bo hog. Finally met back up with Colby and we cast into a couple spots until the dogs finally pulled out. I got to watch my black gyp and 2 young pups cross a road and go in about 400 and bay. The pups were hammering on this shoat when I got there. Man there is nothing more satisfying than young dogs clicking. Especially the naturals that got the Hunt too. I caught the hog and hollared them to get ahead. They all rolled and Colby went and caught a big sow with his dogs and the rest of mine. Dogs rolled off from there and killed 2 more. Good morning in the woods, only my 3rd hunt of the year and it was good to stretch them out. Hopefully I can get some hunting in and see what these pups will make. These 2 show the type of drive and go that makes it worth feeding all the number 2ty ones. We’ll see how they turn out from here.
