I raised several parker dogs in the past.  They were good to me..  I had bought a gyp one time from a feller in Arkansas that was about 3 at the time. She had tons of bottom to her.  She was smart so I bred her to a male parker I had.  The pups didn't turn out as good as the parents did.  Not that they weren't hog crazy but just didn't have the hunt in em.

I had only seen one other Parker gyp hunt like that gyp I had bought,,, but I did see several and owned several more gyps that just didn't have the hunt in them as the male parker dogs I have had.

So I'm guessing if I had to role the dice on one stick to the males? How did some of the males hunt range wise? Did they stay busy all the time looking for sign?

Aint nobody can tell you better about his dogs than Mr. Larry.  He is easy to talk too and will not exaggerate a dog.  Ive talked to him several times and its like Ive known him all my life,,,  I had sold a gyp to a feller in Texas 2yrs ago and shes over at Mr. Larrys now getting bred by one of his males.  After my last male parker dog heat stroked on me last summer I don't have any left,,, but whether it was luck or fate,, I didn't have any dealings with many gyps that were considered hog dogs as compared to the males I had..

I own and hunt Parker’s and Parker crosses. They do fine. I believe being male or female doesn’t have much to with how they hunt as much as exposure, and the dog itself not necessarily the sex of the dog. If that makes any sense. I prefer the gyps to the males with the parkers though.
