Met up with Underdog and cousin Ryan this evening at a new place right out of New Waverly. We were gonna send the dogs into a block of woods and the landowner was gonna sit in a pasture and shoot any hogs that came across. The dogs struck within a ouple of minutes and ran the hogs out the other side of the woods... opposite from the landowner. The wind was blowing hard through the pines and we couldn't hear crap. About 5 minutes later we hear boom...boom...boom..............boom. We're like "oh $hit", four shots four dogs! Turns out, the landowner heard them strike and bay and break a few times. He headed that way and shot two hogs... one for sure and one he thinks. He tells me over the phone the dogs are bayed solid, across a hay field and a cow pasture... 3/4 of a mile from us. We head over there and end up with a small boar. Luckily he had his Gator with him and it saved us a long walk back as the rain was starting. Gonna hit it again next week... there is a BIG boar track that's been tearing up his mom's yard the past two weeks.

Bryant and Ryan... aka Rambo

Tweety and Hunter

Clifford

Dog pile in the back of the gator... there's one buried underneath.

Good hunt! Clifford has a brand new pretty vest with no scratches!  Grin I may have to try one if my pup works out.

I think that is one of every dog hunter's worst fear..gunshots. Glad everything ended up ok with some bacon to boot.

Them gun shots and were the came from and the timing of them gave me a good sinkin feelin till we still could hear the dogs again.....Only problem was we were a little dis-organized and my catch dogs didn't catch properly... Wink

good one, reminds me of the time i went and heard gun shots, look over and this scared idiot (who's name i wont mention) is firing a pistol into a group of hogs with our dogs scattering all over the place, he didnt hit one pig or dog(thank god), but the dogs caught one 5 mins later, people like that need to leave the hunting to the pros (the dogs) lol

Good looking dogs you got there.  Glad everything turned out ok and no dogs were shot.  There's no worst thing then hearing a gun shot in the woods where your dogs are.
