Well, I got up and put my coveralls on this morning (jk) to make a round with my nephew and one of my buddies. It was pretty darn nice compared to what it's been being. Pulled up to the gate and cast dogs and before we could unload the buggy, they had a shoat stretched. We go down there and all that was left with the hog was a couple of puppies. Soon as it was dead they were gone. They put up bayed again at about 700 yards and this time in the water. The sow was taking her final bob when we walked up. We laugh at my buddies dog, that sucker was absolute about getting ahold of her. She would float up and he would crawl up on her to catch her and it would mash her under, so he would go too. That sucker was literally vertical with nothing but the tip of his tail out of the water. I don't know how many times he did it before he was convinced she was dead. Anyway they rolled over and bayed again about another 6 or 700 yards away on the creek bank, we caught that sow. They roll over and bay at 450 and the bay broke. The hogs came right past us, made a loop and went right back where they came from and got bayed at about 5 or 600 yards. Went and caught that one and headed to the other 3 dogs that had gone the opposite direction. They wound up split up and we caught 2 of them and then headed around to the last young dog, ole Mojo, who was 1.26 from where we were by then and over 2 miles from where he started the hog. He would get bayed then it would break over and over. By the time we got around and caught up to him, he was only about 400 yards from some more buddies that were working cows. We could literally see them so I called him out to keep from making trouble for all of us lol. Not a bad hunt on a real nice morning. First picture is my buddies dog and his brother. On scuba diving while the other watched. The other I just a picture of some of these good ole Texas thorns!

You didn't have to get in the water because it isn't cold enough yet.

Good hunt and dog work T Dog. Sounds like the dogs put it on them this morning. I’m sure Mojo made you smile sticking like that alone. I’m ready for some cooler weather. August & September have been hot, dry, and tough on man and dog up here in North Texas.

Priceless pic of the dog’s  tail sticking out of the water.

Good hunt T-dog! I messed up one time a long time ago and grabbed one of them trees without looking trying to climb out of a dry creek bed... I always look what I’m grabbing since then haha!

Mike they are bad for sure. When first started, I ran up on a hog in a wide open field one night. I had a flash light but the batteries were just about dead. I heard something blow and hit it with the light and here it came. I could see a single tree in the moon light so I made for it. I jumped for a limb and swung my legs up around it all in one motion. I didn't fall out I was velcroed to it!
