As the title states, Red heeler/ Bluetick cross. I'm getting a pup off this accidental cross. Bluetick is a solid hog producer, heeler is just a cowdog. Anybody ever hunt a cross like this?

I will say, threw some dang ugly pups

I hunted a healer x rottie for yrs she wasn’t the best dog but she did the exact same thing every time. Funny how a mutt worked and a lot of dogs bred from hunting stock don’t. You never really know until you do

A young man had a rottie female about a year old...put her in the bay pen and she caught...he put her in the bay pen twice...once the day before and the next day right before the hunt...we went hunting and she was hunting hard with no hog sign to be seen...my cur dog bayed and she shot out like a bullet and when we got there she had one ear and the cur had the other...she was pretty impressive in my eyes...
I believe one of the duties of the early Rottweilers was as boar dogs...

Here is a recent pick of the pup, almost named him Ugly. Showing signs of being a decent dog.

Definitely gonna be open on track
