Well Joel and I, my buddy Colton and one of his girlfriends made a round this morning. It wasn't productive in numbers but dogs had to work. We caught 2 boar hogs about 150 lbs. each. Bayed the first one and the bulldog missed and he broke but was bayed within 75 yards. This time the bulldog got him and we found out why he missed, NO EARS! Glad we caught him now and not 100 lbs. later. The dogs left and we had to go nearly 3 miles to intercept them. Then we went back to the original place and cast another set of woods. The race was on before they finished their locate barks got him stopped about 700 yards from there. He broke again this time it was 1.5 before we got him stopped. By the time we got around to them they had been bayed about an hour. Sent the bulldog and the hog broke and ran about 100 yards then turned around and came right back to where he was bayed and down into the creek. Bulldog caught but between being green, a log in the water,  and the water he got loose. That worked out better for us because he left the creek and one set of woods to go to another. The bay dogs sat him down on his butt in the wide open, then the bulldog finished him. Joel was actually the first one to lay hands on the first hog. Gonna tell him I let him beat me, lol. He's a hell of a hand for 65yrs old.

Two hogs was good for the simple fact that some other guys had been there a couple days before and said there wasn't anything there. I was pretty sure there was. First hog was found and dead in the first 10 minutes lol.

Lmbo I'm gonna have to ask him if he's a transplant from Arkansas. That's funny!

In all seriousness, they are both great people. He's a heck of a hand and fun to hunt with. She's a good sport too. We don't cut her any slack and she takes like a champ.

Colton is a cool dude, we have talked plenty about arrowheads and hog hunting but we haven’t setup a trip yet. Congrats on a successful and fun hunt!

Lefty he's one of those young guys that give me hope for the future of hog hunting. A lot of sense willingness to learn. Very respectful of his animals and his land owners. Just a good guy. You need to set something up with him.

Yessir I absolutely agree. Hopefully he and I can make a few of the old timers proud one day. It sure would be fun to set up a hunt all together. He and I are talking now maybe we can set something up soon!
