Good lookin cur dogs and barr. Should fill the freezer nicely.  Those Yeller dogs the kind that will "make" one bay or are they the kind that will "chase" one until it "decides" to bay.   They look like the "right" kind.

They are the kind that will di what they can to make one bay....they still get in a race now and then but most of the time when they strike they come bayed pretty quick. I only run a pair at a time, 3 or more on the ground and there isnt much need for a bulldog.

Heck of a hog Justin. In your experience have you come across some Barr hogs that really tied it on and tried to run? I’ve only killed 5. 3 of  them bounced around some breaking bays but eventually settled in. Other 2 never moved. been after the Barr in the back for almost a year now. Finally got dogs behind him 2 nights ago and he laced it up from the jump. Showed the dogs every corner of 1000 acre high fence 2x and the lost him in the middle of the 3rd lap.

Slim in my experience they arent much different than a boar or a sow. Some are happy to stand and fight, some run a 1/2 a mile or so before they stop and some leave the country. I think it has as alot to do with the dogs working them as well....specifically the number of dogs and the pressure those dogs are putting on them. But at the end of the day if he wants to run he is going to run. I struck one 5 days ago while making a solo hunt that was easily 75-80lbs bigger than this one....he knew where he wanted to go and my 3 gyps were doing everything they could to stop him but he never did let up......made it to the flooded creek, hit the water and disappeared. When he came across the road in front of me my 3 girls looked like a pack of Hornets on him, 1 on either side and my pup hanging from his ass, I really figured he would give up but he never did.
