A coursing mastiff by origin but basically a ban dog...percentage wise I am not sure a persons chances of getting a good catch dog from one would be very high as well as a large amount of diversity in the breed as in size, conformation and working abillity.

No, but we have a young presa canario that we are thinking about useing as a rcd. He is deffinately showing an interest in hogs.

I guess the odds worked in my favor, b/c mine is a hog catching beast. He is so freakin smart it's scary. Wish he was smaller when we're hunting thickets, but other than that he's been great. Haven't caught any monsters with him yet, but I am confident that he will take care of business. He just about toted off a sow over 200lbs his first time in the woods.

Cool...what are his blood lines? the first imports from Italy were from the Sotilie (sp) family, they raised Noe's as well. I think I have seen a pic of him you posted before, how much does he weigh? You have another pic of him? I am glad you like him and he works good for you, just don't see many actually working.

The presa is fine with the heat so far. I'll have my husband post some pics tonight while at work.

I have had one for about 2yrs now and am very impressed. I was worryied about him not having the heart or the jaw that my pits do. I had nothing to worry about. He hates a hog and will catch until you break him off, has a head full of sense, and definitly puts my worryies to ease when I am working graveyards and my wife and daughter are home alone . I have been leaving him on the chain the last few hunts and just carrying my little pit cause I sure hate to loose him but I think I hurt him more doing that. My wife said he just sits there and howls the WHOLE time I am gone.

I never sent off for his papers. I still have the puppy papers, but they really don't tell me much. He came from a guy in Eudora Kansas. I've never weighed him, but he's prob well over 100 lbs. He's only about 1 1/2 years old.

And I love how he always puts himself between me and anything he sees as a threat.... super protective

Zeus, beer drinking buddy, tresspasser's worst nightmare, and hog catching machine. I will try to get some better pics of him later but here he is. This is him right at a year old with a dogoxpit puppy that I had picked up. Only other one I could find of him on here.
