My oldest boy and a couple friends wanted to make a run today. So we got up early and dumped the dogs out at noon. We cast Raylynn and Ava and they were bayed at
.87 in just a minute. We get there and it's a rally and catch a sow. In just a second they were bayed again at 400. It broke a couple times and we ended up bayed about 2/3 of the way back to the truck. Caught that boar and Ava bayed again. Raylynn got there and they caught a shoat and we caught the dogs. The rain was coming so we packed up. By 230 I had the dogs home and put up. No trophies but it was short and sweet.

I bet you are, but that's the only chance your hogs have of surviving and multiplying is if you and those plotts are forced to stop. Heck if you didn't have turkey and deer season you wouldn't have any hogs because you and those brindle dogs would wipe them out.

T dog. lol No chance of that. We used to have places to hunt that we could hunt during deer season and turkey season and I would lay out in the hotter months of the summer. Now that we have lost those places we have to hunt in July and Aug., just to keep these pups going. This one place we used to hunt never had deer in it 30 years or so ago. Now it has more deer then hogs which dispels the myth that hogs run the deer off.

I hear ya on that. I had places that I could hunt during deer season. Now I can't because the deer have become so populated and all of a sudden everybody is a bow hunter. Funny how time changes things. I use to want to catch every hog every hunt. Now I'm content with a few and during the heat one or two is enough. Maybe I'm getting old. That's what it sounds like!

Got up early... turned at noon hahaha! This past week was sure the right weather to do it. It was mid 40’s here every morning. I don’t believe we’re gonna have anymore of that.
