Dang tiger striped dogs were about to outnumber my black ones haha. I made an outcross with Kyle Witherspoon a little while back. Kyle has a tight bred family of cur dogs he’s been breeding for a long time now... my Lefty dog is bred pretty tight himself. We’re hoping for good results on this litter and have them to cross back into our dogs in the future.

We’ll see what these two little black beauties do...

Ben, they hunt similar... a lot of drive, stick and stay. I believe his are a tad more on the gritty side, but smart.

Good looking pups. That is what I like to do if I make a outcross. Breed to another tight bred family with similar traits.

Ben, Kyles dogs are where I got my original blood from. pretty much everything in my yard now is bred down from the dogs I got from him 10-11 years ago. They are and have been great dogs for me but I can say without even ever hunting with Mike and his dogs I would be willing to bet they are a good bit rougher than his as they are rougher on average than 90% of the dogs i've been around over the years but they are hearty dogs and seem to roll with the punches pretty good, I generally have one or two on the injured reserve pretty much full time when I am hunting hard lol.  I would bet good money that those pups will roll when the time comes. I had awesome luck using one of kyles dogs for an outcross litter years ago. I bred a female from his blood to a dog I had named camo that I got off of DJhogdoggers (Dinah and James Psencik). that was the single best litter I have personally ever produced. Im anxious to see about this cross, I bet they will do just fine.

Thanks y’all.

Justin... that’s what everyone says about Kyle’s dogs. The first time I met him, he told me point blank.. “Mike, everyone thinks I have rough dogs, but that’s not the case”. Yes, he has some super rough, catchy stuff and he has dogs that will set back and bay, depending on which way he breeds them. I wish he’d sign up and post... he’s been reading the board for years haha. After visiting the past few months, he and I think a lot alike on dogs.

Those are really pretty puppies, but you could run the risk of raising some yaller ones out of them instead of all crows or stripes.

I'd have a delima on my hands if I had to pick pups off this bunch. They sure did turn out nice, I'd be willing to bet some good money that they end up being just what y'all are needing. Mike, when I read the title, I thought this was about getting them older dogs back lol.
