Hunting has been good lately. Wednesday went to The Trinity, Sketch And rocky hit a hog right behind the house. Had him bayed after about 600 yard run not 15 minutes after we dropped them. Then caught a group in a water trap, had the group bayed until a buddies dog showed up and picked off a small on. Killed 2 more off the group.
Went Saturday morning to a new place outside SweetHome Texas. Carried sketch and the 3 Kemmer gyps we just got. Sketch put on a show hunting, but took 4 hours almost to find the group of hogs. So much white flower rose hedge in this country it is unreal. She finally found the hogs and spent about 45 minutes running 100 yard circles never making a sound. Finally she opened and I realized what she was doing, spent all that time rounding them hogs up trying to get em bunched up, and she did. Spent the next hour trying to find a way in to them. Dolly bayed awesome with her and helped her put a few runners back in the group. The other 2 barked some, did okay until we started shooting. Dropped 6 out of the group before they finally all broke. Brush was so thick we only got a picture or 1 or 2. Sketch and Dolly took one a long way before finally getting smoked through all the rose hedge.

Picked them up about 3. Dropped my brother and buddy off at their trucks and headed to another spot back closer to home. Sketch and Dolly hit a track off a wallow, back trailed about 600 yards, flipped it around and went a half mile back and bayed a little sorry sow laid in some nasty yaupons. Let em bay for a while and laid her over. Called it a day and headed to a crawfish boil.

Mike when I say the trinity, I am referring to the Trinity ranch off highway 59 about 6 miles north of Beeville Texas lol. I have hunted the trinity river one time a few years ago with josh Johnson and joe dehart. Up near ?moss bluff¿ maybe... all I know is we were in a big place on the south/west side of the river and it backed up to some wetland refuge land or some national forest on the south/west end.

Saturday morning was more a pain in the arse than anything. I have been all over the Brazos and little river bottoms along with the yegua. Them yaupons and swamp bottoms get bad in spots, real bad. But this place in sweethome on mustang creek was so bad with rose hedge. I’m not sure I will ever return. At least not without some good hands and sure enough dog power. Set up the right way with a good game plan you could probably kill 20 or so in a morning.... BUT on the other hand, these new dogs ain’t gonna make anything sitting in the pens. So I am headed right now to 6 thousand acres of grain and we’re gonna put dogs out for the 5th time in last 10 days.

I completely understand that slim. Keep feeding them tracks and you're right, they'll make dogs if they have it in them.
