Snake bit dog

A 40” diamondback crawled in the kennels, Tbow took a bite to the face but was feeling good enough after the fight was over to eat the rattles off the tail.
 He was down for a couple days and the hair fell off around the bite, but he bounced back and is good to go.

I too watched my Raylynn gyp get bit while baying in the edge of a tank (pond). I've always used dex, or benadryl, and antibiotics. I've used alum paste for cuts a few times. I was taught to use caster oil with it instead of water because it clings better. It did work well. Caster oil tastes great too so it's really inviting for a dog to lick lol.
