Hey guys, a few months ago I had a dog get hit by a car. The collar was still operating like normal when I found the dog. It showed treed where she was laying. Well after that the next time I went to use that collar it connected to the garmin fine but it won’t connect to GPS at all. I’ve got that one and another one that a buddy borrowed a few years ago now and it has the same problem. I’ve been trying to put off sending them back or getting new ones because of the cost. Does anybody know if there’s a way I can repair them myself?

If the wire is broken from the gps unit to the circut board, you could try sodering or replacing the wire. Nothing to lose and if it works, you just saved 150.00 bucks for a remanufactured one.

So the problem would be in the antenna? I’ll try taking it apart tonight and see how it looks

It is not the cable antenna it is in the wires from the gps button that is attached to the collar with the rubber strap wrapped around the collar and has a wire or wires that run down inside the unit.
