The old traditional hammer weighed 7.8 ounces and the newer one weighed 6.8 ounces. I don’t know if there is a advantage of one style over the other but the newer hammer has more weight in the head and drives nails like a heavier hammer. It really boils down to what you get used too. Besides that new hammer is pretty doggone sexy looking. Lol time will tell but so far I really like it and the balance.
I had to go get it out of the truck to take a side by side picture so you can see the size difference.
