That’s what I’m figuring happened. Bite near the lip or she had a cut and chewed on one and somehow the fecal matter got introduced. But there was a significant sore(almost like cold sore) on her mouth for about a month. Sometime between 6months and a year ago. I’m not much for a coincidence kinda guy. Correlation might as well be causation. Even if that might be a tad ignorant.

I imagine they carry it around on their legs and such, so they wouldn’t have to directly defecate  in a bit wound, I wouldn’t think? T dog, if you have the ability to put us in contact. I’d love to speak with Mr.Glass.

Meant to make a morning cast today and got a last minute phone call to go work a set of calves. Cast had to wait till mid afternoon.

Started the flop pup today. Between her barking and it affecting spoon and Lulu. I about had a come apart between the first 2 cast.
Headed to cast them a 3rd time they rigged a hog not far and dumped in a little ole Mott. 3 legged shot up poor sow that they took way too long to get held up. Not worth the picture.

Get around to my 3rd cast spot and spoon and Theresa go 300 and bay. Lulu goes and I send Flop with her. Breaks when they get there. Bay sounded like they were standing on one but dogs split out of the break. Theresa got spun out. Lulu and flop left straight west and spoon went north. Flop fell out at about .75 . Lulu came bayed at 1.3 and spoon made a big loop around to her about the time I realized I was locked inside the north gate of the place I was in. Rolled back to south end and collected Theresa and flop.

This is a place I’ve been trying to get in for years and just hasn’t worked out. Opened by an orphanage in weatherford and leased by some local folks. Long story short I finally got permission to go in there today. Garmin showed them bayed on what looked like a the edge of a hay lot. It was, but the edge was the old home place and rolled up to a cool scene.

Big fat sow bayed against an old Lean to barn on the cow pens. The put her in the pens by the time I killed her.

Watered them off the trough they bayed on and spoon and Theresa bayed at 500 down the hill. After a little loopty loop, they run the boar to my feet, and a misplaced shot from trying to video made them go another 75 yards. before they realized he was wounded and caught him.

I had broke the bay. They went about 50 yards and spun him and that’s a screen shot from them running him back to me. Flop got in on this hog too.
Ole spoon man is driving on that track.

Where life ends, legacy hopefully begins.

Sketch had a heart attack about sunrise this morning. I laid her to rest then loaded up a bunch of her pups and we set out to send her something to bay on.

After they made a loss on him about 20 minutes into the race I figured he was gone and we tried. Theresa Lulu and Rusty just needed some time. They pulled back out. Got him jumped again, and half an hour later put him right back where they had started him to begin with. Proud to say the least.

10 more years with sketch and I’d still have never been able to feed her enough leftover beef or Taco Bell to ever repay her for what she did for me over the last 10 years. She left me better than she found me in every way possible.

Get Ahead, Sketch!

And so it goes young man…

Ain’t never easy, no matter how good or sorry they are you gonna put em in the ground one day.

Until the day you have a set that sees you into the ground.

Thing about life is nothing gets out alive.

Glad she made you some great memories and left you some progeny to remind you…

It sucks they can’t stay young forever. You gotta be great full, and I know you are, that you had a good many years with her plus the fact that she left a large part of herself here in flesh. As good as she was,  now you can stretch the facts of the stories now. She’ll never quit getting better. Heck I had some cracker jacks in the past. They did some things you’d never believe! I’ll tell you about some of’em sometime when we have a good bit of time. It takes a while to tell about that kind of magic.

Semmes, so it does go. I think her and I made peace with it over the last 3 weeks. Onward.
She laid the foundation no doubt. Thank you.

Hunted late weekday last week. Was really trying to gar hole them around my house and just make them use their feet, before a big Sunday guided hunt kinda deal. Well 3rd circle they made king lulu and Theresa finally pulled out. Bayed a group a mile and some change across a county road.

2 hours later they were running what was left of a 30ish hog rally back into the place they started them for the 3rd time. I called em out as it’s right on a county road and traffic was unusually heavy for out here. Flagged one lady down and after I explained why I did, as she pulled past me hogs and a dog crossed in front of her.

Only killed one. was tons of fresh pigs in the original group and I need them to make it to adulthood around here. Could have whacked on them pretty good with some help.

That’s Theresa carrying the majority of what was left back north for the 3rd time.

There’s a screen grab from one hog I shot where they were living off the first bay. Nothing happens fast in that little 50 acres of tangled mess. I’m aiming at the hog right there and there dogs in frame.

Got invited Sunday to bring dogs to a friend of my stepdads family country out around waelder. Good hog country. Took a bunch of his kids and grandkids for one of their birthdays. I carried my 6 and Rhett brought his gidget dog. First cast we end up by the time they line out. Misty and Lulu headed north and spoon and king and rusty headed south. About and hour of what the heck’s happening right now later, we got all 7 cur dogs together and hammered. Walk a full baseball line up of folks in on the bay and they had about a 150 lb boar with 2inch teeth back up in a rootball in a small creek bottom. We send lizzo and cardi from 5 yards and that was that. Couple sows after that, got into a rally about 11 and then they started pickings off cheap shoats. About noon Lulu carries another group off our permission finally and we got catch another shoat.
One of my males is being cheap and catching pigs out of groups when things get hectic and it’s not something I’m a fan of.

As we’re Pulling up down county road we watch the group run back into our permission. Good time to call it and not get greedy though so that’s what Rhett and I decide to do.

Don’t think either of us pulled our phone out the entire day to get a picture. Never was a hog worth mentioning past the boar.

Got a few from the landowner.

As we sent CDs to a rally the rally broke and cuts caught a decent sow. 2 hogs crossed the sendero in front of lizzo on her way there, She did what she does when something runs from her. Caught it. So they got to see lizzo work one out as she caught it running down the road. And we were doubled up. Rhett went ahead to get hands on the other hog and we made our way to him after catching lizzos.

Willie and Theresa. Her and LuLu have been dubbed the “Twisted Sisters” cause they are a little throwed off. But they are 2 gyps I am proud of and would show anybody.

Sounds like a lot of traveling for those young dogs and it sounds like they were working hard for you. Glad you were able to catch hogs for the guided deal.
