Dang I hate to hear that for y’all. I know what she means to you. Unfortunately this is a time that we all have to face in life, not just hunting. We have to be thankful for the time we had with them. Those darn Chagas bugs have been around a little longer than I realized. The worst part is that there isn’t a cure or real vaccine the way I understand it. There’s a new experimental vaccine or treatment that’s about $200 a dog I think, but again it isn’t proven yet. I think it’s Bob Glass over around Lexington that is leading the way in the research on Chagas. He does testing and all on dogs.

Man, I am sorry to hear that. Hoping for a good result however narrow the chances are.

Thanks guys. She is my best friend, and has been since the day I turned 19. Gonna make the most of whatever time we have left with her. Hopefully we have more than I’m letting myself believe for now.

6 days, 6 weeks, or 6 more months. Whenever she goes, we’re gonna be short a good hog dog. And a great dog around here. She will leave behind a legitimate legacy of producing working dogs that worked, That will be around a lot longer than her.

Sure hate to hear about Ol'Sketch being seriously ill, on the upside if she doesn't make it through she is leaving quite a legacy. Started you a good solid line of dogs that should last you decades.

I’m with everyone else on here, hate that you have to go thru that with sketch. I’ve enjoyed reading about your adventures with her.

Sure hate to hear Ol'Sketch has a serious illness, on the upside even if she doesn't make it through it she's leaving quite a legacy. She has spawned you a good strain of dogs that should last you for decades. Not all dogs that make good ones, are able to reproduce. Seems to me she has excelled on the ground and in the brood pen.

Been an adventure for sure. Thank you sir.

And old man, I appreciate the kind words. She has excelled or I’ve lied that she has, at anything I’ve asked of her.

Slim nobody knows if you lied or not except you and her so just go with it. Seems to be that once they pass they get even better. I believe that’s why they say there’s no such thing as a finished dog lol.

It’s always tough pill with the good ones.

I’ve enjoyed following y’all’s adventures thru the years slim. She sure made you proud and I’m sure a better man. A good dog has a knack of doing that to folks.

She’s been there from my 19th birthday to now looking at 29 this year. Shes been one of the 3 constants in my life in that time. I’m a better human because of her I hope. She has taught me a lot. Hounds, hunting, and otherwise.
