Carried the A-holes Spoon, King, and Rusty this morning. Hogs crossed below the house last night at some point. Turned out where hogs hit water in the ranch, wide open prairie. Took about half an hour but they finally worked the track about a mile the right direction, but no dew last night and no rain since mid July has us dry and trailing has done got hard. Spoon and king made 2 losses on it in the neighbors to the north and everybody brought it on back.
Went and gar holed them to the east for a little before I went and dumped them back in that track they lost about half a mile further up. They looped south and come back 500 north and struck. Couple hundred yards race out of the slough they was bedded in to their water hole, and they were standing on her. Waiting half an hour for okay to go to em. Finally got to go. Broke her back and forth 4 times, 5th bay they bayed on top of another good hog and rusty and king/spoon were split by about 10 yards. Well I broke Rusty’s bay trying to get eyes on his hog and that turned into a pretty big dust up between 3 cur dogs and 2 pretty good sows. Had em both sat up and holding for a while but the fresh hog was pretty sporty, and kept breaking, finally she spun out and dogs stayed on the original hog. Finally shoot her and she was stiff about the time she hit the ground she was so hot.
They got the 2nd hog bayed back pretty quick. And then she whooped their asses in 2 different dozed brush pile and then dumped them on a shoat back head south towards my place. Called it a morning after that.
