I need feed back. My buddy has a dog about 3 years old I think. When he’s turned out to run, his eyes begin to swell and look like they are going to pop out of socket and then he goes stone blind. I don’t know if it’s something like a heart issue or if it’s a virus type issue or what. I’ve never seen this before in all my 48 extremely young years. Have any of you or do you have ideas/opinions about it?

I don’t know about that situation man.  But I had a Plott gyp yrs ago that would have a seizure on the first few hunts of the yr starting in January as soon as I turned her out the dog box.   Don’t know if it was her nerves or what.  Excited I guess.  After that she was good and would settle down.

Try giving him some dexamethasone before he’s turned out next time sounds like some sort of blood vessel constriction

It’s confusing because it’s an all of a sudden thing. I may get them to try that dex to see. I’d sure like to know for sure what it is. I guess the only way to know that is a vet.

Sounds a little like glaucoma symptoms except for the fact it is when he is turned out to run?

That’s what puzzling is it only happens when he’s turned out, that’s pointing to me in the direction that once his heart gets to pumping and he gets worked up, how old is the dog and is this a new occurrence that just started happening l?
