Well my nephew and I went with Colton to one of his spots this morning. He had 2 young guys from California with him. I’ll tell you they were making pretty good hands by the end of the hunt. We turned out about 8:15 this morning and stuck number 7 at about 10 or 10:15. It would’ve been sooner but we had to drive way around by highway to get to Ava. She had number 6 and 7 bayed by herself about 1.5 from us. It was a sure enough fun hunt with good company. They had a fit over Loki my catch dog. If they said it once they said it 100 times, “ man that dog is bad a$$” and “man I never seen a fog mind like that”. Lol they had a blast. It will definitely be a great memory for them and us.

Lol he has a lot in that pumpkin Cajun. He’s aggressive to the bay but smart enough to take a trail when he can. I hunt him off leash. He’s very ear minded too. Super catty dog at 82#.  We laughed at him yesterday coming back to the buggies. Ava was bayed 550 yards from this guys front gate. We called and he said we could walk in or wait on him to drive out from town and unlock it, so we walked. There is about 2’ of ground between the gate and the cattle guard. It’s net wire fence right up to the gate posts on either side so not easy for dog to get through. He went under the gate but had a little trouble crossing the cattle guard without slipping a couple of rungs. When we came back he trotted up to the cattle guard, jumped it and squirted right under the gate without touching it. To me that’s a pretty dang athletic move and it shows he learns pretty quick and figured out how to adjust. He caught caught both boars Ava had bayed between crossing the cattle guard going in and leaving. He’s a pretty dang good side kick too.
