I caught the dogs because I myself was hot. The young dogs were hot but not to the point of ready to fall out. I think it was more to the point that they were hot and even more frustrated that they couldn’t find him again. At one point no two dogs were together, they were all in different directions. We had 3 of mine, one of Jr’s, and one of Keldon’s on the ground. Ava was the only experienced dog, so the rest of them are still trying to figure things out. I wish now that I had left Ava down. I wish I had gotten close enough to her that I could’ve sent the young dogs to her. I really think she would’ve bayed him again. I’ve seen what happens to heat stroked dogs and I let that override my training instincts. I guess next time I can do it knowing the handled the heat better than I thought.
