Been a few years since I got this book but well worth reading again. The author goes in depth about his experience as a rancher, Trapper, Game Warden,Lion hunter and overseeing a vast amount of land as predator control. He uses mostly Airedale’s as his main dogs. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Training dogs is not about quantity, it's more about timing, the right situations, and proper guidance...After that it's up to the dog... A hunting dog is born not made...

I have the Hard Copy also. I almost had to give up reading when Louis L'amour died. I have read every one of his books several times over. Even tho I sometimes down load books on a Kindle, there is nothing like reading a soft or hard copy book when I have the time.

Rainy here so I read the online book it was enjoyable, thanks for posting the link. It was interesting that he used almost explicitly Airedales, I know that through that time era Airedales were a fairly popular all around dog and many used extensively on big game. He expressed much more trailing ability than I expected from Airedales, since most of what I had ever heard or read they were usually added to a pack for their fighting abilities I am surprised there aren't more strains of working Airedales left or still in use these days.

Interesting material for sure. Thanks for sharing Cajun & HH. - Real world , hands on experience is very appealing to me. I have a lot of respect for guys like the author who lived and breathed the outdoor lifestyle. He definitely knew every hair on his dogs. - I was impressed by their longevity and consistency. Pup dog lived to be 21 years old! I was also surprised the Airdales would stay treed as long as they did. I assume because they could see the cat. It sounds like the author did a dam good job off putting them on fresh tracks…..especially the bobcats he took. - The Puse dog could dam sure eat my feed!
