Been a few years since I got this book but well worth reading again. The author goes in depth about his experience as a rancher, Trapper, Game Warden,Lion hunter and overseeing a vast amount of land as predator control. He uses mostly Airedale’s as his main dogs.

That's an awesome book, it is in an odd format but this is a link to an online copy.

I need to pick up a Hardback copy, nothing beats the original information highway!

I have the Hard Copy also. I almost had to give up reading when Louis L'amour died. I have read every one of his books several times over. Even tho I sometimes down load books on a Kindle, there is nothing like reading a soft or hard copy book when I have the time.

Rainy here so  I read the online book it was enjoyable, thanks for posting the link.
It was interesting that he used almost explicitly Airedales, I know that through that time era Airedales were a fairly popular all around dog and many used extensively on big game. He expressed much more trailing ability than I expected from Airedales, since most of what I had ever heard or read they were usually added to a pack for their fighting abilities I am surprised there aren't more strains of working Airedales left or still in use these days.

Real world , hands on experience is very appealing to me. I have a lot of respect for guys like the author who lived and breathed the outdoor lifestyle. He definitely knew every hair on his dogs.

I was impressed by their longevity and consistency. Pup dog lived to be 21 years old! I was also surprised the Airdales would stay treed as long as they did. I assume because they could see the cat. It sounds like the author did a dam good job off putting them on fresh tracks…..especially the bobcats he took.

The Puse dog could dam sure eat my feed!
