In the last 20 years I have seen alot of great dogs come and go,to many to mention, there are alot of good dogs out there right now but not many great ones, and with the way the hogs are now days its really any bodys ball game.I was fortunate to get to watch a bay off last weekend with 5 of the best dogs in the sport competeing it was on a group of bad eliminator hogs and I got to see some of the best baying Ive ever seen. Otis Weems Curly,Randy Dominys Bubba,Ben Moffitts Bull,Pop Goheagens Bear and Eddie Rabuns Tupelo, I would have truly hated to have had to judge who had the best score!! It was a real East Vs West Shoot out and when the smoke cleared Pops dog Bear got the nod from the judges, Otis Curly got second and Eddies Tupelo Got third ,with Bubba and Bull taking honerable mention. As I layed down that night I kept running it back over and over in my mind and all I could see was that Tupelo dog taking all those charges, I could see his Breeding, his sire Montana his grand dam Coushatta I could see the Weems Blood and even old Cutter, all rolled into one, he may have got out scored that night but out bayed? No Not Never!! he will take his rightful place some day as one of the great ones!! Reggie

MR. Reggie I am fortunate enough to have been around Tupelo since Eddie got him and for lack of better words he is the best bay dog I have ever seen or will probably ever see. In the bay world some dogs get under rated for what ever reason I am glad that someone besides myself and those that hall dogs with Eddie have recognised Tubby for the great dog he is , way to go Eddie.

Everyone should have known him already. I remember round after round in the best of the best at earls against curly only to watch him be beat by a 10th of a point. He was barely grown and held is own over and over again against a dog that had 8 yrs of experience on him. It was one of the best BOB bays at Earls in the last couple of years.

Thanks for the kind words Reggie. It felt good to be there at the end with dogs I have heard and read about since I have started doing this. I think Bull got everyones attention even if he didnt get a paycheck. It was my first time in a bayoff in the pro classes and I was on pins and needles. I was competing against some awesome dogs and handlers, just hope I can get back there again soon.

After watching him bay at shady oaks I am predicting that there will be many more pro bay offs in your future Ben. I think I saw him at earls in the two dog last year. was wondering if it was the same dog. Although he looked out of shape then. I don't think its going to be long before everyone knows who he is. -kelley

you know, i've seen a lot of good ol' baypen dogs. i would love to see some of those dogs in the woods, but most baypen guys don't do too much wood hunting... a good friend of mine, jimmy hill, has some good baypen dogs...all my yellow blk mouth dogs i get are from him. he wins a lot of bayings. the dude goes to every baying in the south. he goes every weekend. he could find a baying in africa if there were any. his dogs don't hunt too well, but when you do get a hog bayed, those dogs will shut em down.. his "MISSY" dog has been a great bay dog. i would love to have that dog as part of my team. i guess what im trying to say is that some of these bay dogs are impressive/ the real deal and i love to watch a good baying.

Yes ma'am that was him, I had only had him 5 days then and he was still overweight and out of shape. He has dropped about 10lbs since then. He placed 5th last year at Uncle Earl's in the 2 dog.

I am definitely looking forward to watching him bay in the future. He was very impressive at earls. Did you buy the gyp that ran with him also? I really liked her also. Congradulations on making it that far in the pro class. I bet we will be seeing the team of bull and ben in the top 3 alot from now on.
