Was recently given a gyp off the same yard my old crank dog and the rest of my yard are out crossed off of that I’m sure enough excited to hunt after deer season she turned a year old June 1st and as luck would have it just came in heat so I’ll have to sit her until January

First hunt I took her this was her 4th or 5th trip to the woods (buddy that gave her to me couldn’t remember if he brought her 3 or 4 times) wasn’t much to talk about took her and my old crank dog, my buddy Dakota had some young dogs there
crank lined us out a real salty boar hog we barred him and sent on his way for a much needed short hunt for the young dogs

Then two weeks later my buddy justin and me hit some National Forrest here in ETX this past Saturday and I brought that gyp for the second time and she got out and stayed gone all night we never got on anything that we know of but I was definitely impressed with her ran 18 miles and averaged 7mph and was never under our feet!

Cant beat it when a young dog shows that much hustle. Hope she continues to improve.

She’s straight yellow black mouth…friend named David Howard made the breeding
But both dogs came straight off another man’s yard we’re both lucky enough to know here in ETX

I’ll have to ask him if it’s ok to post his name but I will say he’s a member of this forum and could possibly be a CIA operative or something
Most people on this page will know who that is off those clues lol

I’m about 99.99% positive that I know who is being referenced, I’ve sure enjoyed his posts in the past. He definitely knows a little something about good dogs!

Knows more about them than I ever will that’s for sure! Definitely glad he lets me pick his brain on these dogs he’s got them traced back to the early 1900’s if I remember right that’s a lot of dog stuff to remember

Little update on ol Lucy, she sure enough turned into the lead dog around here this past year baying almost every hog I’ve caught normally I won’t breed a dog at 2(be 3 on 6/1) but I’ve had the opportunity to go back to one of the last old male dogs from this line that happens to be a direct uncle of my old crank dog so she’ll be outta the picture till March but
