Turned my two pups Ranger and Outlaw out with Shaymus this morning. Shaymus and Ranger bayed a decent boar while Outlaw was messing up on a deer. He stopped as soon as the electricity bit him. He went to the other two and we caught him. The wind was stout to say the least and it hindered the young dogs. They found a sow and pigs the sow got away but the pigs didn’t lol. Pushed them into another set of woods and outlaw found some hogs. I think they might have been out and about. He took one 800 yards and Shaymus and Ranger bayed a good sow but she broke and they lost her track where she hit the open pasture.  I went to outlaw and he lost his too. Took the dogs to the truck and the landowner pulled up. I had them loose and while we were talking Ranger and Outlaw went 700+ and caught a shoat. This was the first hunt for Shaymus in Texas. He’s a first cousin to Ranger and Outlaw top and bottom and a dog I gave Sasquatch as a puppy. He brought him back so he could take my Raylynn gyp to get bred. He did ok I thought. He got a little beat up on the first boar hog. He’s fast and he’ll sure bite one. I like that.

Sounds good on the young dogs for sure
Kinda ticked off on that name outlaw tho-  I was fixing to use it but can’t now - folks would remember you having the bad a** outlaw hog dog and I would have the outlaw that went to your thanksgiving dinner that the other family didn’t like

Good trip with the young dogs, and not the best conditions.

Nice hunt. Dam good boar hog and great experience for the young dogs. Sounds like outlaw has some independence. Nice to see that in a young dog.

Not the best conditions for sure. Kinda mad at myself for not waiting another day. The wind has died down quite a bit this evening. If I had waited they probably would’ve been able to finish a couple of the ones they lost. The high note is that they were able to put something at the end of the last one and the two young dogs had to do 100% of the work.
