So me and ole Kohl made a little trip this morning. We took my two collie dogs and the littermate brother he has to them and his older dog Ken. We cast the three youngins about 8:45 and held Ken back. By 9 am Mr. Boar Hawg’s alarm clock was screaming at him. We cut Ken to them and caught the hog in his bed. No trophy, about 200 pounds with a broke tush on one side and one of those dog cutters on the other. The dogs all left and hunted pretty good for 45 minutes to an hour and then got bayed on a small group. We caught another boar about 180ish. Again the dogs all left and were in 4 different directions. They hunted hard for another hour or more but just couldn’t get anything else lined out. I think the wind had a lot to do with that. It was blowing harder than a little bit. We finally called them out and went home. It was fun letting the young dogs carry the load.

Thank y’all. I’m proud of them. They don’t have a dozen hunts on them yet so I feel like they did good. I just hope they don’t quit progressing.

They sure didn’t let that boar go very far. Good dogs good hunt in windy and dry conditions.

Those are some fine hogs for the young dogs. Sounds like they have put it together. We were supposed to go today but 30+ mph winds in the marsh is not a lot of fun.  I am getting soft in my old age.

They’re trying to put it together. I with you Cajun, that much wind in the marsh sounds miserable. I would think it would be easy for a dog to get hypothermia.
