A few days ago Adam and I went and hunted 4 or 5 spots that prior to this year usually held some hogs. We never did get a strike or even see any fresh hog sign. Pretty disappointing year for hog hunts here around home

A couple days ago Herbert's Plotts called ready to make another round and we went this morning. Had to really look for a hog down there too, first rattle out of the box had some "anti" training on two of mine and two of Joe's young dogs and eventually got a cold track started jumped and bayed.   First decent boar I have been party too this year, best guess would be 220-240 lbs heavy teeth but not long teeth. He was bayed in some briars and moving around some and sure enough when I sent the catchdog he broke before contact, ran him another 150-200 and caught him, in a much better place for us haha, a little open spot. We lightened that hogs load a  little and then he escaped, maybe we'll catch him back some other day and time.

Great hunts, and even better looking plotts!

The hogs are scarce around these parts as well this year.  Makes training young dogs hard, but they’ll shine alil more hunting them hard spots.

Yeah man.  I hate it when they get loose from us like that too.  Lol.  Hard hunts make smart dogs in the long run though.   Fine boar and fine lookin hounds.

BA-IV that reddish brindle male on the left of the picture is your female's littermate brother, and yes I agree easy hunting all the time is not great, but I'd like a more even mix haha.
