A little bit of what we’ve been up to this summer. I haven’t been on here hardly at all. Been hunting a little bit. Not as much as we’d like but hogs are hard to come by lately anyway.
Lost some dogs, got some dogs. Culled some, maybe even made 1 or 2.
Got sketch penned with a 1.5 yr old stud out of Joe Hejls stock. Hell I’ve got me a 3/4 greyhound 1/4 game bred gyp pup I’m raising now. Banking big time in her taking and easing a litter. I got big big plans soon as I get the next litter out of Sketch.
Hell she done scared me twice this summer. Cotton mouth bit and then turns around thought I was gonna watch her drowned taking a big boar across the Colorado river to a steep bank. Ended up cut up for less than the 5th time on her life but we got the hog and she swam back across on her own.
Hope you guys been after em. About to do some reading to catch up!

Thanks Thomas. We don’t get a 1/4 of the stuff I wish we did these days but working hard on dogs, half the time we’re trying to hunt another one by the time we realize no one got a picture of the first one. Soon as I get a good hunt lined up with better weather and a good set of hogs. I got a friend who takes pictures professionally that wants to come and shoot us, that should be fun and turn out cool.
These days I think we’re calling her 7. She’s been on a pretty good little streak of late. On the same hand we can’t get nothing to honor each other right now out of 7 dogs we’re hunting Just out of the blue they’ve all decided every once in a while it’s “screw you I’ll go try my own” lol. Been frustrating when it’s happened some nights.
Lost Tim’s up and coming gyp out of her from 2020 litter. beginning of the summer. That really hurt. The brother is trying but it just ain’t clicked for him. He’s getting sent to Gary Fritsch now to try him on cow dogs. See if a little change of scenery helps him out. As flashy a leopard dog I’ve ever seen, be a shame if he don’t make lol.

I hear ya, they don’t all make it and it seems like it’s the purdy ones that are most likely to be a miss lol. Your right though, maybe this will help turn the switch on, I hope so.

Glad to see you still getting some hunts in Colton, I hope ole Sketch takes. Gah it’s crazy to think she’s 7, I remember you posting her as a little pup.

Here’s my sketch gyp, 2 of Tims pups out her we had this summer, and Tims crook dog he raised casting. This was about 7-7:30 pm cast after work. dogs struck at 650 and bayed at 700 and stood on the best boar. Killed 2 good boars and a good sow.
