Thanks guys   It’s a nerve that was damaged. Hopefully he will come back but not putting much stock in it. Steel is a pretty fair dog at 3 1/2 years. Not my coldest nose dog but you put him in sign and you want see him until he is caught. He was two before he finally started baying big hogs. If a hog stopped or he got close enough he was a caught hog. That being said he broke a lot of bays trying to catch big hogs but couldn’t hold them. He was better being hunted by himself where he would bay a big hog. I had a dog about 15 years ago that had to have his back leg amputated and he still ran in the front for about 3 hours.
