I have two to start. I actually have about a half dozen hunts on my Hope puppy. She is 11 months old I think. I like her right now. She hustles and grasping the concept pretty fast.
The other one is out of my Ava gyp bred back to ole Uno. I call this pup Ray and he’s about 9 months old. If you ask me right now if I like him the answer is yes. I like him a lot but he is worrisome. He’s always jacking with the other dogs looking for something to do. He’s fixing to get started just because he needs a job. Gonna be true to type as far as this family of dogs goes. He is one smart cookie for sure. I lost all but him and one other male out of his litter to parvo. I kept them real close just so I could personally observe them. We all know when they get sick like that it could do anything from fry their brain to stunt their growth. Neither of the two ever quit drinking but they did quit eating for a few days. They also never quit getting up to greet me at the gate. I was worried for a while that they were going to be stunted but they finally had a growth spurt. Neither are ever going to be big dogs which is fine with me but will be about average size. He learns about as fast as a dog can. You show him something a couple of times and he has it down usually. I think he’s going to have a big motor and plenty of bite to stop one. I don’t expect it to take many hunts before he starts finding hogs on his own. His brother is already in the woods and my buddy says he has a lot of hustle and will bay the hair off a hog. He also said if something else starts getting rough that his pup will catch and that he is 100% committed to it when he does. Says he’s going to have to be smart about what he hunts him with until the pup is better educated. Says he isn’t stupid rough just don’t have a bluffing mind set. So I guess we’ll see how they turn out. The Sexsquatch has a pair of pups for me out of my Raylynn gyps litter mate brother and UNO’s littermate sister. I have super high hopes for those. It’s the same cross as my Outlaw (Uno/Raylynn) dog only the opposite way. They are purdy brindles and look like the could be the offspring of one of those promiscuous Bayou Cajun Plott dogs.

Year old gyp I call Turtle, her name was turd for the first six months as that’s exactly what she was. Nothing special to look at, but fits my mold as I prefer smaller built females for the most part. She wanted to stay by me at first, but the last two hunts she’s learned to go to a bay, help catch and hunted out with the older dogs about half the time so she is showing progress and that’s good for me.

Getting some box time here.

Thought this was a funny pic - wind got right and they smelled my stock trailer that I had pigs in earlier that day.

Shaw and Lizzo. Shaws about 15 months old. Out of some weatherford Ben/Wright blooded dogs. Lizzo is greyhound with a touch of pit out of coyote dogs from Kansas. I believe lizzo is going to make a find/catch dog and nice sight hound. Shaw hasn’t got much using yet. Too early to tell on him.

Some young dogs left over from last season.
I expect them to cast and hunt like their sire but a dog like him doesn’t come often so we shall see. Curious on how much bottom they will have. I guess it’s the con of having to many others get out on the back burner.
Also have a couple others that was doing dang fine before deer season to finish out.

Dang fine looking dogs fellas.I'm leaning on some young dogs hard this year got two 2yr Olds "KC" and "Peaches" and "Peewee" thats almost 3yrs all related out of my late Hambone dog bred to two different females ,Maggie(his Aunt) and Cypress, these three are lead this yr and Starting two more ,"Kong" he is a 1yr old out of the same exact breeding as the 2yr old male KC and "Rattler" he is 9 months out of my Cypress female bred to Hambones daddy Skeeter. These pups should hunt exactly like the dogs they're out of ,good nosed stock dogs with tons of drive, stick, stop and stock sense.I hunted Kong last weekend for the first time since he was 5 months when I carried him once I've never shown him a hog in a pen or one tied out and he was probably the most impressive pup I've ever taken! He did everything right trailed, bayed, caught, relayed, loaded and truly was an absolute pleasure to hunt he is my yard dog as well and has as much personality and sense as any dog I've ever owned.Rattler has not been to woods yet but this weekend I'm gonna start carrying him, he is an incredibly intense gamey dog and I don't think there's going to be any issues with him wanting to work and please.I had ruff year last year but I'm really excited about this year to come I've got a tight bred pack of pups running the yard that I'm super excited about as well.

Rattler 9 months

Then Kong 1yr

Out off my salty dog and my bmc gyp I use for blood. My salty dog is out of some of my dads line and a running walker male and out a gyp that is Bolen bred. The bmc gyp has some of my dads and some buddies dogs!
She started out good last season. We shall see what sitting up during deer season done to her.
