Title: water well questions??? Post by: Caddo co. hog dog on July 05, 2011, 11:07:19 pm I have four water wells on my place, three with water and one silted in. My question is i am needing water on the south east quarter and have a well but no electric within a good half a mile. I thought about solar but im trying to keep it as cheap as i can so... My idea is to run a pipe as far as i can down the hole and pull it up a few inches off bottom. Then run the remainder of the pipe a little over a quarter mile down hill all the way to a almost dried up pond. My question is will it syphern out and run even a little bit of a stream into the pond if i pump water from the pond in the water line and fill the hose full of water then remove the pump and hopefully flow. Has anyone ever tried this with any success? I know i know call me cheap.... but the price hay is gonna be this year im gonna hafta watch every penny.. thanks

The only way siphoning/gravity feeding will work is if you can get the output line lower than the water source. Im not sure how deep you’re well is but I’d bet its highly unlikely.
I wish I had an economical suggestion for you but other than a windmill, I cant think of nothing but a manual pump. |
