Title: Training Pups Post by: wine6978 on January 14, 2012, 02:32:16 pm Well I got 2 new pups last week so I figured I would see if they would bay at a pig or not. They are both four months old and doing perty dern good for being pups. I also took 2 pups I have had since they were a few weeks old. The really light yeller one is coming along real good and knows what a bay is in the woods and gets after it. The pup not doing anything is a challenge to me, she hasn't done so much as bark at a pig, but she is only 6 months old so I ain't too worried. My Pups are coming along real nice. Here are some pics and a short video. O the 2 red ones are new.

I was like dang they are big for 4 months, they are 5 months. They were born August 1st. Either way I'm happy with how they are!!! Title: Re: Training Pups Post by: HDMdogs on January 14, 2012, 05:35:39 pm Good looking pups! I like them yella dogs personally.. have u tried that pup that ur struggling with with an older dog yet? It might just be that it's gonna take him to turn on a little while later. I had a dog that wouldn't bark at a hog until ten months at a year and a half old was one of the better dogs around my yard!
Title: Re: Training Pups Post by: wine6978 on January 14, 2012, 05:51:03 pm Yea i have put her with an older dog and nothin... She will chase one if it runs by her or if a pig squeels she runs up and gets excited. I reckon she is just a little later of a bloomer than her sis (the light yeller dog). O well time will tell!!
Title: Re: Training Pups Post by: HDMdogs on January 14, 2012, 05:54:01 pm It will happen just stay with it and goodluck to ya. How were them pups bred?
Title: Re: Training Pups Post by: wine6978 on January 14, 2012, 06:00:12 pm The two red ones came froma guy down here in alice. I believe he said he got em from odessa, said he could get the paper but i dont care about em. The other two i got from a guy up around edna, he gave em to me. I have bought two papered black mouths from his son in law, and he said he just wanted em to go to a good hunting home. He just bred em off dogs on his yard. As of now the only dog i have had problems with not bayin is that one. And i got 5 dogs under a year, so i got a good start to my own blood!!!
