Title: Staff infections Post by: Clay on August 15, 2007, 10:08:29 pm Not 100% sure but i believe it is a staff infection already took her to the vet when i got her for the same thing.I gave her 3cc of penicillan and put corona creme on the sores how long should i give her penicillan and how often...i was gonna wait a week then give her 1cc of penicillan every week . Not sure what to do the antibiotics the vet gave me didnt seem to work they came back..Any feed back would be greatly appreciated. She had just came into heat when they formed again could that have something to do with it? So like i said i clueless....

Title: Re: Staff infections Post by: longshot on August 17, 2007, 01:10:28 pm The intramuscular (muscle shot stuff) is actally stronger penecillin but is much more of a pain to give in my opinion.
When I bought a gyp that came down with a deadly case of Mastitus the vet told me NOT to use the SubQ and give the intramuscular twice a day for 2 weeks. It seems to work better for infections and things other than cuts. I am no expert on Staff though Longshot |
