EAST TEXAS HOG DOGGERS FORUM

Bryant, Harry and I made a run down in Houston today. Finally found some hogs around mid morning and caught two. Loaded up and went to the other side looking around for a while with no luck. Came back to where we caught the hogs this morning and an outlaw deer hunter's truck was parked down there. We got some pictures and got on the horn . The game warden showed up shortly thereafter and decided to wait him out to see it he shoots. He never shot and right at dark he got a big suprise driving out! Another game warden rolled in right after the first one pulled him over. They ended up writing him two tickets and confiscating a rifle and pistol. I don't think he'll be coming back!

Ml, that fat silver belly was a boar. I wonder how that fella felt when the GW pulled out on him?  Ha ha. Funny part is he had his hunting book on his front seat  :o. We had another big one get away twice, once we broke the bay and second time we got to 30 yds with bulldogs but he left the country right before they got there with my CD in the race with the curs for a mile or better, finally got her back a couple hrs later. Good day for sure.

o ok my bad i seen that sow looked like she was milkin some babies or something ... i've damn near for got what boar hog smells like i've been catchin nothing but sows an piglets for the past month im ready for something with some size an a little attitude to not run

The good thing about this whole deal is that we saw his truck before turning out... if he would have shot one of our dogs, it would have been a bad situation.

On a nearby property, some idiot had the nerve to mow it, set up a stand and a feeder!!! He was even warned a week ago that it was private property... but kept on hunting it. He got a suprise yesterday with three citations and a trip to jail! ???

These idiots don't realize that between us, ten game wardens, sheriff deputies and cameras all over... that somebody is going to catch them. ;)

Good Hogs Mike, yea Poachers r gettin worse and worse... We've had a couple cows shot By spotlighters and a few cams stolen so I've went ahead and purchased a couple of those cams that immediately upload to ur email Ready to catch'em...

I dont want to change the subject but I would like to hear how those cameras work that send the pics to your email!

@ Matt, @ peach creek.. The cameras that email pictures back to you are awesome! They are relatively affordable as well. I know moultrie has one out. There's a $20 or so monthly fee for data usage and around an initial payment of $600 or so for camera and system. They work well

My boss man's son here at work has one of the Moultries set up down in South Texas. It's pretty cool... we check the pics everyday.

The set up i got coming is moultrie, cam ran me about 140 and system ran about 150 and the monthly plan is 40, u pay month month to month so u can jus not pay if ur not gonna B using it. Takes in Between 4-40 seconds to upload photos directly to email....

O yea and it runs off at&t signal so with Better signal you will get quicker upload time...

My buddy has some that send email and pic to your phone. Its called a scout guard i think. Really neat to have especially if u have young dogs u can turn out on fresh hogs after it sends pics

Yea there is a lil cheaper monthly plan thru moultrie around $30, and its my understanding on the scoutguard cam that if u got at&t r T-Mobile u can jus do the add a line feature on ur phone service for like$10 a month...

Uvision game camera sends picture text to your phone and email. AT&T month to month plan $25 a month. Works great. Easy to use and set up.

We are having trouble lately also.  It's getting worse because a guy down river has leased his place adjoining the WMA.  A hunting and fishing newsletter has mentioned the great hunting on public land.  With the paper, and internet (google earth) everybody and there brother has asked to drive through my place.  I have given permission and keys to 2 young men that I have known for their entire lives.  But, others don't ask, they assume and it's reached a boiling point.  We have been real tolerant due to the fact tresspassing with a firearm is a felony charge in Florida.  I hate to see a kids life ruined over a swamp goat.  But, somebody set up stands practically on the other side of my driveway in front of the house and 150 yards from my back door during archery season.  In gun season this is a recipe for disaster.  Both stands are on my 80 acres no where near the public land.  The one in the back yard is within 50 feet of my hog pen.

I land lock a section of a State Wildlife Management Area that is accessible only by river not by land.  I have had people cut my locks on my gates and drive through my land.  I say buy a boat and hunt all they want on the WMA.  It's a secluded place to hunt with lots of game.  The land adjoining it is mine!  I bought it and I am not required to allow access to anyone but the Power company and the Game Warden!  People are nuts and more and more of them feel entitled to go where they want when they want.  Regardless of owners rights.

With the "changed" U.S., I may be forced to share my wealth in taxes, but I will not share my land, or put my family at risk.
