Title: Good Blooded Piggy's!! Post by: BA-IV on January 20, 2013, 06:07:25 pm These were born today off some blue hogs. Sow was blue and daddy was blue listed, the're half Hampshire half rooter. Oughta be some good blood for the woods! She had 12, and got 4 sows left to pig. Hopefully a red spotted boar got to one of them. This litter is all blue, black, and black listed.

They can be trapped easier and caught easier. Every time I have turned some real good blooded hogs loose I hear of the neighbors trapping them. Hope you can get them all to survive.

That's the kicker right there. They don't seem to last to long. A blooded sow will have a big litter, but the pigs are tame, and a rooter sow won't have many, and she'll usually tame down by the time she's bred. Turning boars out ain't much better, woods hogs will fight with him til they eventually kill him, so if anybody knows the trick, y'all pass it on along.
