In this field, most of the employed are within 10 years of retirement age and there's not many younger people filling these positions. Young person with a degree in any Ag-related field has a great shot of being picked up fast. Just something to keep in mind. At university of Florida you did all your basic animal science courses and then you took classes in what your main emphasis wanted to be such as bovine, equine, porcine, ovine or meat science. There are lots of directions and jobs you can take with that degree. Me, I'm just an educated cowboy running my dads ranch, but wouldn't trade it for anything.

Ive been doing alot of research on this and for the first time in a long time I am exited about school.. Im NOWHERE close to a cowboy but I spent the last 4 years working for a pasa fino horse breeder and I get a chance to work for the spbr rodeo.. Ive always been intrigued with working with animals. Started off as a sports managment majot. But my heart wasnt it..again thanku for your insight!
