My buddy has a good Lep cur x and I wanted to see what everyone else has for Lep curs/ hounds.

are you talking about catahoula leopards or leopard curs?

  yeah me too  lol  I was waiting on a clarification of witch one , or I could post up pictures of each category

I should know since I'm in the home state of the breed lol, but aren't they all considered Catahoula Leopard Dogs? aka Catahoula curs? aka Leopard dogs? Or am I missin somethin?

Not mine anymore but I LOVED this gyps build and color. She just didn't fit my hunting style....rough as a Cobb. I'm getting a pup out of her though...should knock just a bit of the catch out of the mix.

Anyway, she is 1/2 Catahoula 1/4 Red Bone 1/4 Pitt

No nelieve he is talking about leopard hounds mike rodgers on here has some here in stephenville my buddy michael conaster has a couple ask dillon about them. Tooooooo open for me though.  Have had 2 and neither worked for me one was just semi silent but not the greatest bayers but great trail dogs with enough bottom to make up for some of the openess.  I wouldnt mind having a cross at some time but no full bloods for me

    a lot of folks say leopard cur without knowing the difference between the Catahoula and the American leopard [ cur ] now classified as the leopard hound by ukc .  but used to be the leopard cur [ tree dogs ] . catahoulas are leopard colored and curs but should be called Catahoulas or Catahoula cur and not the leopard cur which is now a hound and not a cur in name only   ,  confused yet  lol  .

Yes I'm talking about the orignal American cur...

American Leopard Cur... some will continue to be registered as such a lot will be UKC register Leopard Hounds and very few will maintain dual registry.....not to be confused with post-50's Catahoula Leopard Dog/Cur/Hound.  Tree/Hunting Dog vs. Stock/Meeee Tooooo Dog.

In central and south Florida, where I'm from, any dog with Catahoula blood is considered a "leopard dog" or "leopard cur".  We feed cur dogs and don't consider any dog that opens on track as such ;)

here in Texas for as long as I remember we have had Leopard dogs as well...these are just leopard colored dogs of any breeding including mutts that are colored that way...but we also have two breeds that many people confuse with each other and they are as different as the night and day...Catahoula Cur is one breed and the Leopard Cur is another...but just in the last few years the leopard cur is now called a leopard hound by some...and like halfbreed said it has to do with changing the name from cur to hound so this breed can compete with the hounds in the hunting trials...
