I been just running a garmin collar on all my dogs but here lately I been un easy about only the garmin I don't know why just a gut feeling. I have a quick track but it's been so long since I sent it off I have forgot where to send it and how much it cost to get a battery put in a collar does anyone know.

I didn't even think about going look for their website. I've been using a garmin since they first came out and prob wouldn't go back hunting without one but i think it's just a matter of time before it will fail and I know the quick track is reliable

I wont put a dog in the woods anymore without double tracking collars. My buddy lost 2 of the best dogs ive hunted behind bc they got out of range on the garmin and we could never pick em back up. Lesson learned the HARD way.

ya on really big places if you can't keep up then it's best to double up I been really thinking about doing that!!  really never thought I would but there's times I wish I have 2 because the dc collar battier life is not as long as we wish it could be!

I use to not worry about it as much the dogs I use to hunt with would come back eventually but I got some now that will kick rock and have to run down when I get ready to go home and that's what I like but when that question mark comes up or that battery is half life I get a bad feeling so I figure running two collars would prob be a good decision. I've only had to leave one dog in the woods over night. I was out of state hunting and a dog got hung up in some rock bluffs right at dark it was to dangerous for me to walk in and get him at night so I waited til next morning that was the longest night of my life, I started to the dog a little before daylight and when I got to him his battery was almost dead to close of a call
