I'm fixin to build a woods trailer, would like to c some of y'all's trailers to get some ideas.

U talkin bout somethin to haul around in the woods to hold pigs/dogs or somethin to haul ur equip to the woods? If to haul around in the woods, unless u hunt nothing but open fields n pastures, dont make it no wider than ur wheeler n b sure to put tree kickers in front of the wheels so u dont hang the wheel/s up on a tree, the kicker/slide will hit the tree first n push the trailer sideways to clear the tree. I need to weld some on my trailer but havent got around to it.

Here is mine. The step up section can b fitted with a sorting/untieing pannel (but another item i have not made n installed). Plus im eventually gonna put a swiveling chair on the higher section so i can carry pax, bit for an empty trailer, i would need to move the axle foward nearly a foot, but with weight in the back, it will level the trailer/wheeler out.

Lowe's sells a very small trailer with short expanded metal sides and a slide in rear gate for around $400.  I have been considering buying one for about 6 months. 

Change the coupler to 2", flip the axle so it's under the leaf springs to get a little more clearance and make it ride level hooked to a truck or SxS.  Extend the top to make a box.  It's already got lights and of course brand new tires.  I figure that it can be done for under $500.

I've built several woods trailers in my life and all of them were functional, but made out of old rusted boat trailers, and leftover construction scrap.  I spent a lot more than $500 on the last one and it wasn't street legal.  I like the option of being able to pull a woods trailer with my trucks too.

I just use my 20x6 ft half top stock trailer. Got a 4 ft cut in the front for dogs with a side escape gate, the middle cut for hogs I've got an escape gate on the cut gate. Then the last cut for your horses. Put a rope around your hogs snout and drag him to the trailer with your horse. Works good for me.

Ur horse drag that stock trailer through the woods? I bet that horse is tired at the end of the hunt

This is my woods trailer for hogs. 4x6 tractor supply trailer and I just added to it.

I don't use mine much anymore since I built a dog box for my Ranger, but here is the one I built several years back.  It's very functional, but it's a bit on the heavy side.

Yes I did.  Started with an old boat trailer, although all said and done it would have been easier to start from scratch.  If I could offer any bit of advice it would be this:

When you first start, lightly tack your springs and axle under the trailer.  Once you are finished, weight the whole rig and get an overall length from tip to tip.  There is a formula (can be found on internet) which is basically a ratio of weight to length that will tell you where to properly place the axle.  Jack it up, knock the shackles loose and get the axle in the right place.  Tongue weight is critical.  Not enough and it will whip and pull like hell going down the road...too much and your atv will have hell moving it around through the woods.

X2 on the tacking and getting the proper amount of tongue weight. I tacked mine on, ground the tacks off and retacked several times till I got it where it was just about what I thought I wanted, till my kids got on the front of the trailer and I could barely turn my wheeler bc there was to much fat a$$ sitting behind the steer bars and the kids on the trailer, so I cut the hangers off, moved the axle forward about 6-8" and it did the trick to an extend, but I didn't want like what Bryant said about the fishtailing and whipping bc of lack of tongue weight.
