Title: Re: Leopard pit Post by: MAV on February 08, 2015, 11:44:31 am What y'all think she is ?
Title: Re: Leopard pit Post by: dallas22 on February 08, 2015, 12:11:13 pm Cat/pit cross
Title: Re: Leopard pit Post by: T-Bob Parker on February 08, 2015, 12:18:16 pm It could be a fullblood pit from a leopard line, but yes, at first glance id say cat pit cross, more than likely a cat to blue pit cross. more importantly than what we say, hows he work and what do you say he is?
Title: Re: Leopard pit Post by: Judge peel on February 08, 2015, 12:55:05 pm I use to see pits like that but it's been long time she looks pretty cool tho
Title: Re: Leopard pit Post by: Goose87 on February 08, 2015, 07:22:45 pm One of the better known carnathan stud dogs was once advertised as a catahoula bulldog stud many many moons ago, I've seen an old ad he put in a magazine before he was known for his yeller dogs.
Title: Re: Leopard pit Post by: hogmantx1979 on February 09, 2015, 01:56:12 am I would say blue heeler pit
Title: Re: Leopard pit Post by: MAV on February 09, 2015, 08:30:40 am the guy i got her from said cat/pit but i dont really know.
Title: Re: Leopard pit Post by: Georgia-Hawgs on February 09, 2015, 10:02:07 am Reckon she'll be gritty ?? ;D
Title: Re: Leopard pit Post by: hoghunter71409 on February 09, 2015, 10:23:37 am With them radar ears I would say Elephant x pit.
Just kidding....looks like she would scoot to a bay! Title: Re: Leopard pit Post by: MrsLouisianaHogDog on February 09, 2015, 11:53:04 am Cute dog for sure. I actually was just in a drawn out convo the other day with an individual who was dead set that they had a "pure" merle APBT. Sigh.
Title: Re: Leopard pit Post by: Cajun on February 09, 2015, 02:00:25 pm Never seen a pure pit with merle coloring but back in the day, there were sone pure pits with ears like that & they called them bat ear pits.
Title: Re: Leopard pit Post by: Judge peel on February 09, 2015, 03:08:04 pm I have had heeler pit cross before very unstable dog had to put her down for biting every thing that moved I would not recommend that cross unless you wanted a very hostile guard dog lol
Title: Re: Leopard pit Post by: MAV on February 09, 2015, 03:20:01 pm no telling i guess. i do know that she should be able to hear a bay from a mile away with those ears.
the dog was giving to me free so if she dont catch no loss here i just thought she was a crazy looking dog and been looking for a shorter catch dog for the brush. the way she acts around a pig in a pen no dought she will catch but we will see how well pretty soon. Title: Re: Leopard pit Post by: MrsLouisianaHogDog on February 09, 2015, 05:42:50 pm Good luck with her, hope she makes the cut!
Title: Re: Leopard pit Post by: WayOutWest on February 15, 2015, 03:23:23 pm There were some merle APBT's some years back that were claimed to be pure. Don't know if they were or not but after some research the ADBA refused to register them due to health issues. They have died out in the registered world.
Title: Re: Leopard pit Post by: TheRednose on February 15, 2015, 06:46:49 pm I would def guess pit/cat with bat ears. There are still a lot of gamebred pits that have those bat ears. I like her glass eye, good luck with her.
Title: Re: Leopard pit Post by: T-Bob Parker on February 15, 2015, 10:14:46 pm Chance Ward used to have some pits that were leopard. Now of course he started them with a cat cross then inbred, out crossed and line bred to keep the leopard trait in em, but over the years they got to where they were "full blooded" pits, not pure obviously, but pretty dang close while still maintaining the gene for leop's
I always wanted one real bad but he doesn't make em anymore, I don't know the name of this one, but I always thought he was sure a handsome dog! Title: Re: Leopard pit Post by: Reuben on February 16, 2015, 03:17:15 am T-bob...that a good looking dog right there...
Title: Re: Leopard pit Post by: Amokabs on February 16, 2015, 12:47:03 pm Those bat ears reminds one of an English bull terrier
Title: Re: Leopard pit Post by: T-Bob Parker on February 16, 2015, 01:03:55 pm T-bob...that a good looking dog right there... I agree and I sure wish he'd have been mine, but that was CWards dog Title: Re: Leopard pit Post by: Tusk Hog on February 16, 2015, 06:37:51 pm Come on guys there is a very simple explanation. Title: Re: Leopard pit Post by: Hollowpoint on February 17, 2015, 09:04:33 am I would say blue heeler pit Kinda what I was thinking judging from the tall, pointy ears. |
