Title: Aluminum welders! Post by: Tusk Hog on February 19, 2015, 08:44:11 pm When building out of tubing and plate (floor plate/diamond) what grade are ya'll using? Going to build a flatbed out of aluminum for Ranger with a dog box. Just not finding good info on grades.

I wouldn't go any less than .125" for the bed and no less than .066" for a dog box. I built a a couple fuel sample takers the past couple days using T6 for the flat tip and butt plate and T3 pipe for the holding cell and down spout. Even after wedding the flat tip to the pipe, it was still hard enough to stand up to the stiff drain plug.
