Huge thank you to Lion and Boar hunter for taking me on a cat hunt. I've hunted with dogs since 1992 and have attempted to bobcat hunt with my bear dogs countless times. Finally got to see what real bobcat dogs look like. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Title: Re: 1st successful cat hunt in 27 years. Post by: Rough curs on January 18, 2019, 10:09:27 pm If I understood, you have bear dogs and have not caught a bobcat.... I learned years ago if you have dogs that can catch a bobcat you can catch anything.Lion and boarhunter knows that for sure . Cats are the only creatures that can successfully not leave a scent for 100s of yards...Don't know how they do it but ,they do and I'll swear by it... didn't mean go anywhere with that but I had the opportunity too ,on your thread. Good job run the small game grey fox ,coon , and cats and catch em ,I bet you will catch anything larger.

Holding ones scent is still a mystery to science itself, especially bobcats, it's something that hasn't been scientifically proven but there's been way to many "observations" by seasoned die hard cat hunters for there to not be something to it.. But no cash kidding if you can catch small game ,the dogs should be able to catch anything. When I hunted hounds we hunted year round ,grey fox ,coon and cats. Bears became easy once the dogs could run the small game. And cats where the hardest.
