THE CLASSIFIEDS / THE DOG TRADE / Male - Plott/BMC Cross Strike Dog - Semi-Open

This dog is approximately 1 1/2 years old... he is a good dog and I have no problems with him OTHER than he is semi-open. He is not dog/human aggressive and has a decent handle on him. He has plenty of drive and won't stop on a hog.
Call / text me if you have any questions 830-255-1422
I have gotten a lot of calls / inquires on this dog, some people are even wanting to buy this dog - pending getting the money, but I've made no promises to hold him... he is still on a first come, first serve basis... 1/14/11
OK... I still have this dog and really want to free up the kennel space that he is occupying. I've spoke to a lot of people about him and some seem very interested but I'm just too far. I'm located about 1-1/2 - 2 hrs South of San Antonio, TX. Depending on date/time and location I MAY be able to meet the person who gets him. Let me know if any of you are interested... I'm asking $250 for him but am open to trades, just ask... I might be in the right mood (or wrong mood for me) and agree to what you're proposing. This dog isn't bad or a cull dog he just don't fit my pack. 2/1/11

THE CLASSIFIEDS / THE DOG TRADE / 1yr old NICE 1/2 AB & 1/2 pit - catch dog (picts)
|
on: May 29, 2010, 08:43:02 pm
|
I bought this dog as a pup and raised him with the intentions to use him as a catch dog... Key "INTENTIONS"... He's been in a pen 3 times and catches just fine BUT I don't use him!! I just don't use 'straight up catch dogs'... my pack will strike/bay a hog and catch by the time I can let a catch dog go, no matter the size of hog I know, I'll probably regret letting him go but I have too many dogs as it is and have a gyp that will drop a litter in about 2 weeks so I'm cutting my losses now AND hoping that my kids will forgive me one day He is very thick and stout/strong and has a BIG SQUARE HEAD... he is right at 1 year old and is intact... he has a good temper ( I have a 7, 3, and 1 1/2 year old and they all hug/pull/bounce...etc. on him and he just seems to smile and lick'em) I'm asking $200 for him and am located South of San Antonio... I'll CONSIDER trades, just let me know what you have in mind. Thanks! Mike 830.255.1422 you can also text or email me...

I know that a symptom of Coccidioidomycosis (aka. Valley Fever) is a respiratory caugh and pneumonia / flu like symptoms.
After a long drought and high temperatures followed by excessive rain / moisture is the perfect environment for Cocci / Valley Fever spores…
This is just my $0.02 (two cents)… after spending MUCH, MUCH more than $0.02 (two cents) on one of my dogs with this…

I have had her for about 3 months and she has proven to be bred well. She has the drive/desire to work. She will really get after hogs and isn't afraid to put her mouth on a hog. The reason that I have decided to sell her is because she has opened up twice in the dog box right before my strike dogs stopped/bayed up. I am confident that this dog will prove herself as a hog dog or as any type of hunting dog for that matter - with the proper training and time. I have only used her as a help dog up to this point... only letting her out of the dog box along with my other help dogs after the strike dogs have bayed. She will definitely honor a bay and works very well when she gets there. She hasn't opened up on track yet but I can't say that she won't -I have just never run her on the ground. With all of that said, I can not say if she is broke or not. Let me know if you are interested or would like more info. Thanks for your interest! Guys/Gals --
I just downloaded and printed several TDHA Membership Forms and will make it a personal goal to get ALL of the people that I hunt with to sign up. I have many friends that always want me to take them hog dogg'n and I never ask them for anything in return cause I consider them FRIENDS. I will ensure that they become members of TDHA, since they enjoy hog dogg'n so much, and present it in the form that even if they do not hunt with dogs... that right/privilege could be depleted.
If they want to hunt with me and my dogs then all that I ask is an ANNUAL TDHA Membership Fee....
Don't sound like too much... does it?
Mike

HOG & DOGS / DOGS ON HOGS / Re: Culls vs ???

I completely agree with several posts that have been made... I have a couple of questions/scenarios for you all: If someone (GUY) buys a dog that was bought as a Strike/Finished dog, how long (much time/days or hunts) should GUY realistically use/work this dog before making up his mind? -- Considering that NO trials / guarantees or things like that were made BOTTOM LINE HOW LONG SHOULD GUY WORK THE DOG BEFORE MAKING A DETERMINATION ON THE DOG BEING "WORTH IT" ? Say that GUY recently bought dog (the dog above) that was sold as a 'FINISHED' dog, GUY has had this dog for about 2 weeks, GUY hunted this dog several times and have killed approximately 8-10 hogs while this dog has been on the ground around GUY's pack. HOW LONG SHOULD GUY CONTINUE TO 'HOPE / WORK' THIS DOG TO SEE IF SHE 'COMES AROUND'?? HOW/WHEN DO YOU COME TO THE DETERMINATION THAT THE DOG IS PARTIAL TO HER PREVIOUS OWNER? HOW/WHEN DO YOU DETERMINE THAT THE DOG WAS A 'STRIKE/FINISHED' DOG FOR HER PREVIOUS OWNER? I post this for comments/answers to the questions for everyones different opinions NOT to bad mouth anyone or any dog sellers!!

Coach..... I HEAR/FEEL YA!!! It is pretty sad when you have to exaggerate to move the dog...... I supposedly bought a "FINISHED" dog, I'd like to still believe that most of us would not sell a dog that we believe is a cull - Will anyone please tell me where in those pictures do you see a Full Blooded Blue Lacy dog? I've put this dog on any where from 6 - 8 hogs and she still ain't coming around - any suggestions?

Southsidehunter, Ya, it's pretty darn dry out here also... I hunt in between Laredo and Eagle Pass which is pretty much on the Mexico/Texas border. I wish I could say that we may get some rain this week but I'm better off hoping to see an elephant fly -- it ain't raining here any time soon!
Little Timmy, I'll hopefully catch him sooner than later... I'm gonna make it a point! I'll keep ya'll posted...

Monteria -- Great point! I often see where others try to take a thread over... when maybe it could be avoided with a PM or patience.
TurdBurd -- No offense to you... I also think that you realizing the situation and refraining from jumping ahead of Cricket is very honorable...
In general: I know that many people just seem to jump ahead of a situation to ensure that they (themselves) get the upper edge on a deal... in "SOME" situations that "MAY" be acceptable BUT, from what I have experienced, it sure SUCKS when you are at the wrong end of the deal AND loose respect for people who do such. We (hog hunters in general) should remind ourselves that we are all in this sport/hobby together and treat each other with honor, respect, and dignity.
NO OFFENSE TO ANYONE - only my opinion -- Just thought I'd voice my appreciation to both Monteria and TurdBurd.
