I know a fellow here in Georgia that runs around 8 short-medium range dogs that are real rough and catchy. They are bird/bull/cattle/catahoula. He catches a good number of hogs and doesn't always get them butchered but it does happen. When they are on a hog they remind me of a pack of yellow jackets, just swarming and stinging. His dogs weigh around 40 pounds so they work best in a pack. If one finds a hog and barks, the others answer and join in catching. He would do better if he had some bigger dogs to anchor with. I myself like one strike dog and a couple of bigger dogs. I currently am hunting two 85-95 pound dogs that can hold any hog. The fellow I know sometimes looses the bigger hogs as the dogs sometimes can't hold them. Hope this helps.
